On a Lighter Note

My host brothers design websites, do graphic design, and are photographers. They recently were asked to make a brochure for a local coffee company called Cafe Rio Mayo and wanted to have pictures of gringos in the brochure because gringos only drink good quality coffee. So.....
I'm a model. The hilarity of it outweighed any culture/power relationships/whatever reservations I could come up with.

Is it true there that most folks there in Peru drink "bad" coffee, maybe even some kind of instant? That was true in Africa, and they were growing the stuff all around that region. I don't think I had a really good cup of coffee the two weeks we were there. I don't get it. And there were coke and pepsi's everywhere that are bottled in Tanzania. I enjoy a bottle of pop once in a while, but I couldn't help but wonder why there were no coffee shops.

Well, I first started drinking coffee for the first time here, so I don't know too much if it's bad, but they do export the best coffee the the States and Europe.

Hey, Andrea told me she learned a new way to make coffee which is PERUVIAN. You make a strong concentrate by soaking the grinds overnight, and then add hot water or hot milk to that. Is that they way they do it at your house? Or do they use the instant powder when they make cafe con leche?
p.s. you're totally beating me on blog comments right now!
